The high-speed rail ser­vice be­tween Hong Kong and Guangzhou re­sumed in Jan­u­ary, and so did Dufry´s store in this im­por­tant hub. Af­ter an ap­prox­i­mate three-year sus­pen­sion due to the pan­dem­ic – ex­act­ly 2 years, 11 months and 16 days – the re­open­ing of Hong Kong Duty Free – came just a few days be­fore the cel­e­bra­tions of the Lu­nar New Year hol­i­days, with the op­ti­mum tim­ing al­low­ing re­unions (and duty free shop­ping op­por­tu­ni­ties) for thou­sands of res­i­dents on ei­ther side of the Chi­nese-Hong Kong bor­der.
